Coaching Each Other Under Our Head Coach, Jesus

Jesus is not only our Savior—He is also our loving, wise, and skilled Head Coach. Imagine Him placing His hand on your shoulder and saying, "Hey, what's going on? Let's talk about it." That is His posture toward us. He welcomes us as His friends, His brothers, and those He is preparing to reign with Him in His coming Kingdom.

As followers of Jesus, we become coaching partners with one another under His leadership. We come alongside a brother, put a hand on his shoulder, and say, "Hey brother, what's going on? Let's talk about it—with our Head Coach right here with us." God created us not only to follow Jesus, but to co-reign with Him in the eternal kingdom to come (Revelation 3:19-22). This life is our training ground. He also designed us to live in authentic community—with a band of brothers who encourage, challenge, strengthen, and pray for one another. This is where we learn to experience the abundant, fruitful life Jesus promised.

We're also engaged in a very real spiritual battle. Our enemy is not passive (1 Peter 5:8–11). He looks for isolated believers, but a brother surrounded by faithful companions is far more difficult to defeat. God never intended us to fight alone.

Coaching Partners is a weekly gathering where men simply "check in" with one another in the presence of Jesus, our Head Coach. Through honest conversation, prayer, encouragement, and accountability, we help each other keep our eyes on Christ, run the race He has set before us, and fight the good fight of faith.

Each week we center our conversation around these five focuses:

  1. Where have you seen God's grace at work in your life this week?

  2. Where have you struggled—in your thoughts, attitudes, words, or actions?

  3. What temptations or pressures have you faced? Where have you experienced victory, and where have you fallen short?

  4. What is Jesus inviting you to trust, obey, or step into right now?

  5. Before we close, here is one final opportunity to share — whether it's a struggle, temptation, a sin, or anything else weighing on your heart. We'll spend a minute in silence before the Lord. If He brings anything to your heart during that time, you're welcome to share it. This is a safe place, and you'll be received with grace. We're only here to support you with prayer and encouragement, so we can walk in life with confidence and joy under the care of our Head Coach, Jesus.
